When you want to shop your heart out, dine at popular eateries, and just have a great time in one spot, you cannot go wrong with a trip over to the Queen Kaahumanu Center. Nearly 100 shops, service centers, and restaurants spread across its two stories, plus community events occur on the regular. The indoor-outdoor design provides an open-air feel, making it a great place to sit and relax in between all your adventures.

To explore all the mall has to offer, you just have to jet on over to the Kahului Harbor area. Just a block south of the harbor, you’ll find the sprawling mall with plenty of free parking all around. You can park near the front to explore it all or go around back to find a spot in the multi-level parking garage. From there, it’s just a matter of walking the mall and visiting wherever catches your eye.

Upon walking inside, you’ll instantly notice the open-air feel created by the unique tented roofing system. The dual-story building gives each business breathing room, while making it easy to scope out your next destination.

On your explorations, you’ll come across many anchor stores, including the only Macy’s on the island, plus mom-and-pop shops galore. Small kiosks here and there inspire spur of the moment purchases, especially if you’re looking for souvenirs to bring back home. Several days a week, farmers market stands filled with local fruits and veggies spread across the central courtyard on the lower level, making it easy to grab a snack for later.

If you’re hungry during your visit, you can get a table at the onsite sit-down restaurants or visit the food court. In that area, you’ll get to check out the menus for all the eateries in your midst and see what suits your fancy. You can get a full meal at just one spot or try all the top items from your favorite restaurants.

Although the shops and eateries bring in the majority of mall visitors, you can find many service providers here as well. Tax centers, dental clinics, and many other services allow you to handle any business that comes up while on vacation.

Insider Tips:
-The farmers market produce stands arrive in the central courtyard on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Friday each week.
-The bathrooms are few and far between, so check the map when you arrive to scope them out. Then, plan your visits accordingly or be prepared to jet back across the mall when nature calls.
-If you want to catch a bus to your next destination, you’ll want to go out the rear doors of the center to find the passenger loading station. It’s easy to miss when busses are not nearby, so look near the Longs Drugs, Macy’s, and parking garage.
-On the weekends, check the stage in the central courtyard for community performances and other activities.
