Jojo’s Shave Ice is Kauai’s original shave ice. The standstill offers the best value anywhere on Kauai and is where the locals go for their cold, sweet treat.

The flavor combinations at Jojo’s Shave Ice may seem endless, but they’re actually limited to 39,304 by the time you consider how the various syrups can be combined. There are 34 syrups to choose from, and you can get up to four per order.

Go with a straight Banana or Mango if you want something purely Hawaiian. Alternatively, combine Pink Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, Hawaiian Lemonade, and Blue Hawaii to create something that any eight-year-old will love. If you can’t decide, the stand has 16 suggested options or you can ask the staff to surprise you.

The shave ice comes in two generous sizes, a 28-ounce Da Kine and 40-ounce Big Kahuna. That’s enough to share, but you probably won’t want to once you take the first bite. To make your cold treat even richer, add a drizzle of condensed milk.

Go with the preferred treat of Kauai. Many locals prefer shave ice over the mainland’s more common ice cream, and they know that this is the best place to get some.

A few of our menu favorites at Jojo’s Shave Ice include:

Locals’ South Shore
Like many areas, there’s a division among Kauai residents on the south and north sides of the island. Go with the southern preference of pineapple and coconut, topped with macadamia ice cream and a housemade Haupia (Hawaiian coconut pudding. It’s a classic tropical creation.

Local’s North Shore
Come here twice so you can also try the Locals’ North Shore. Pineapple, melons, and lychee are just as tropical and tasty. One thing that the southerners and northerners agree on is to top shave ice with macadamia ice cream and Haupia.

Hawaiian Coffee
Take iced coffee to the next level by pouring cold brew over shave ice. Macadamia nut ice cream and vanilla cream pair nicely with the strong coffee.

Colada Special
Pina colada gets all the fame, but Hawaiians have many takes on the coconut and pineapple mixture, Get the Colada Special, and see what pina colada, strawberry colada and banana colada each are like.

Create Your Own Combination
As mentioned, there are 39,304 possible flavor combinations. Lime? Banana colada? Hawaiian coffee brew? What will you create?
