Through this process, it was discovered that even lifelong Maui residents didn’t realize the immense benefits of coconut as a food source, how to grow them or how to prepare them. Even more, locals had never tasted homemade coconut milk or real coconut curry or sipped true pina colada. It was this discovery that led to the first pop-up class in 2011.
