Canyons, cliffs, beaches, waterfalls: Jack Harter Helicopters takes you through Kauai as you’ve never seen before (and potentially never will again). Amateur and professional photographers alike can capture some of the most incredible aerial views as they experience this thrilling ride.
The owner of this business first brought his helicopter to the island in 1962 with a dream to offer everything from tours to utility services. He got his first big break when he received an investment from one of his first customers.
Jack would experiment with a number of aircraft during those early years, including the Bell 47G, Hiller FH1100, and Sikorsky S-53. He would make a name for his company by prioritizing the safety and comfort of his guests. All of the pilots at Jack Harter are experienced aviators who know their way around the skies.
Doors Off or Luxury
Jack Harter Helicopters offers two distinct tours for the adventurer in you:
- Doors Off: This is a safe way to feel a rush of wind and gust of excitement as you get your camera ready. You’ll be taken above the ground on an MD Hughes 500 helicopter for around an hour or so and flown to some of the most beautiful places you could ever hope to see. The helicopter holds up to 4 passengers, and it’s a great choice for both photography or videography.
- Luxury: This tour is a bit more comfortable than the Doors-Off and takes place in an AStar helicopter. Smooth, safe and air-conditioned, passengers can use Bose noise-canceling headphones to make the ride that much more luxurious. Sail along in a roomy cabin with floor to ceiling glass. Enjoy the plush interior and excellent views as you absorb all the best this state has to offer.
Locations of Note
Where and how the pilots fly is subject to weather conditions. However, the main highlights from the tour include Manawaiopuna Falls, Olokele Canyon, Waimea Canyon, Menehune Fishpond, the North Shore beaches, the Tunnel of Trees, and Mt. Waialeale. In addition to professional videography and photography, this local business assists with wedding proposals, flower drops, location scouting, load transport, emergency services, and airport transportation.
