If you’re looking for the perfect place to enjoy fresh island cuisine and all the tiki bar classics, put the Seafood Bar and Grill on your radar. With Chef Aaron Barfield at the helm, you can always count on their breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare to tantalize your tastebuds. He goes all out in using ultra-fresh local ingredients and imaginative culinary techniques honed over a lifetime. He’s especially passionate about the daily specials, which allow the team to flex their expertise and wow guests in a whole new way every time.
All their delectable food is the star of the show, of course, but it’s their historic setting that sets the stage for an amazing meal. The eatery sits right along the Kohola Coast in a gorgeous two-story building from yesteryear. Across their interior space, the tropical décor reminds you that you’re dining in paradise. The staff’s aloha spirit does as well, starting with the friendly greeting sent your way as you walk through the doors.
Serving as the focal point of their interior design is the stunning tiki bar with its 70-foot mango wood countertop and grass accents all around. A triple display of TVs keeps the sports games going all day long, while the bartenders are always down for a lively chat. They definitely specialize in the most flavorful mai tais and other tropical cocktails around, but they don’t stop there. All the top draft, domestic, and import brews are available year-round along with hard cider if you prefer.
If you prefer a quieter dining experience, you cannot miss out on the chance to sit out on the patio. Breathtaking views of the Kohola Coast will keep you feeling enamored while the chill vibe always proves wholly rejuvenating.
Absolutely try their:
Paniau Sour
The Paniau Sour lets you revel in all the best tropical flavors, while the soda gives it a bubbly kick. To create this popular cocktail, they start with a hearty dose of Terry Bradshaw’s Bourbon. Then, they add a splash of lilikoi, coconut, pineapple, and lemon-lime juices. Soda comes through at the end to add even more excitement to your drink.
Poke Burger
An all-day favorite, for sure, the Poke Burger lets you enjoy a true island classic with a twist. The chef prepares this burger by searing a ground poke patty on the grill. Once that’s done, they put it on a whole wheat kaiser roll and top it with a tasty pineapple macadamia nut coleslaw.
Lobster and Crab Pot Pie
Another twist on a time-honored dish, the Lobster and Crab Pot Pie will leave you singing its praises far and wide. This popular dish begins with lobster and crab cooked to perfection and soaked in a cognac lobster sauce. Tender leeks, baby spinach, and mushrooms join the party, and then the whole lot goes over mashed potatoes. At the end, a puff pastry goes over the top, and then the whole lot remains in the oven until bubbly and golden brown.
Whether you come by for a big meal or just get drinks and apps at the bar, don’t forget to save room for dessert. They have all the fan favorites on tap, including New York Style Cheesecake, Kona Macadamia Nut Pie, and Chocolate Lava Truffle Cake. Their Kona Coffee Mud Pie never fails to delight, but it’s their Key Lime Pie to watch for. It’s only available from time to time, so jump at the chance to get it when you can.
