If you’d like to enjoy open-air dining right on the waterfront, you definitely need a trip to Lava Lava Beach Club in your life. Set right on Anaehoomalu Bay, this premier resort goes all out in serving relaxed island cuisine in a truly magical setting. Their seats start indoors in their swanky dining room and then spill out onto the beach as well.
No matter where you land in their restaurant, you can expect the highest quality of service with plenty of aloha for all. In fact, their service is so good that you might never want to leave again. Thankfully, you can stay for as long as you want by simply booking one of their oceanside cottages.
Before you can get a feel for all they offer, you need to arrive early, ready to wait it out for a table to open up. They are a first-come, first-served restaurant, so they don’t take any reservations. During their busiest times, it can take over two hours to get a seat. If you prefer to explore while you wait, just leave them with your phone number and hit the road. They’ll send a text your way when a table opens up.
Once you get that text, zip back in and get ready for delicious island cuisine to come your way. They have all the best local flavors on tap, like Ahi Nachos, Hukilau Chowder, and Grilled Angus New York Steak. Start with an appetizer and a drink from their huge beverage menu full of fan favorites, including their ever-popular Huggo’s Mai Tai.
Then, move on to your entrée, while trying not to fill up so much that you miss dessert. While that’s definitely a tall order, it’s well worth the effort. Their sweet treats are out of this world delicious after all, especially if you like Kona Coffee Cheesecake.
If you manage to time your visit just right – and get lucky in grabbing a table in time – you can catch view of the beautiful sunset over the water while you dine. After 5 pm, Henry Kapono, LT Smooth, and other local musicians arrive onsite to wow the crowds. So, it’s well worth sticking around for a while to get the full tropical dining experience from start to finish.
