If you’re planning a busy day in or near Kailua, don’t forget to build a hearty breakfast into your itinerary. You’ll get started on a high note if you visit Over Easy — a delightful establishment that offers not only great coffee and delicious eats but also, a cheerful atmosphere that is downright infectious.

The menu at Over Easy has something for everyone: standard breakfasts and burgers that’ll please the pickiest eaters, as well as unique takes on the classics. A few gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are available, as are several healthy options for anyone who wants to keep things light prior to an active day on the beach.

Any breakfast is extra enjoyable if you charge up with Chadlou’s House Coffee. If you’re in the mood for libations, you’re in luck. Over Easy serves delicious mimosas, Irish coffee, and even IPAs from Waikiki Brewing. The limeade and pineapple juice are refreshing for visitors of all ages.

Speaking of children, they adore Over Easy. The kid’s menu is decidedly limited, however, with just mini pancakes served for breakfast and grilled cheese with fries for lunch. Older kids may prefer to order off the standard menu.

No matter who joins you for breakfast or lunch, you’ll appreciate the bright, contemporary interior. The patio is even better, with umbrellas providing plenty of shade as you enjoy the breeze.

A few of our favorite menu items include the following:

Custard French Toast
Indulge your sweet tooth with this unique taste on French toast. It’s made with unexpected ingredients, such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch and orange crème fraîche. Be prepared to wait a bit for this masterpiece, as it takes an extra fifteen minutes to prepare.

Brunch Bowl
If you prefer something savory in the morning, you’ll appreciate the rich blend of flavors offered in Over Easy’s brunch bowl. It consists of house yogurt, soft-boiled eggs, avocado, spinach, candied bacon, and tomato jam. Sourdough toast and microgreens from De La Mesa Farms are also provided. This mix might seem eclectic, but the ingredients combine to create a truly tasty dish.

Kailua Eggs
Enjoy a distinctly Hawaiian breakfast, consisting of eggs served sunny-side up, plus rice, bacon cabbage broth, and Portuguese sausage.

Over Easy Burger
If you arrive after 11 am, you’ll have the opportunity to order this satisfying burger off the lunch menu. Fully customizable, the burger always comes with roasted garlic butter but may also feature cheddar cheese, bacon, avocado, or egg — if you find these add-ons appealing. The burger would be excellent on its own but is even better when served alongside fries or mixed greens.

Coconut Shrimp Burger
Featuring a delectable shrimp patty, this unique sandwich gets a punch of flavor from wasabi cream. It also includes crisp greens. As with the burger described above, it can be served with fries or mixed greens.

Whether you visit with family, friends, or as a brunch date, you’ll appreciate the cheerful vibes at Over Easy. This bustling joint offers a delightful mix of classic breakfast entrees and innovative dishes that bring a touch of the unexpected. Stop by for a satisfying breakfast or a laid-back lunch before you hit up the nearby shops and attractions of Kailua.
