Playing golf at Pukalani Country Club is heavenly! In fact, that’s what Pukalani translates into: “Entrance to Heaven.”
The 18-hole golf course is situated in Up-Country Maui, and is perched at the 1,000-foot mark of the dormant volcano, Mount Haleakala. You’ll enjoy a challenging round of golf while taking in the lush rolling hillsides, breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Valley Isle of Maui.
Bob Baldock designed the course and is the architect of over 69 public and private courses throughout the United States. Pukalani Country Club opened in 1980 and the golf course covers 160 acres. The championship course is 6,962 yards in length, plays to a par 72, and has the 19th green.
Pukalani Country Club is renowned for hole #3. Golfers are given two options. The most challenging is to tee off with an iron into the wind and across a ravine to the green. Another choice is a chip shot to a second green 100’ below in the ravine. Whichever path you choose, rest assured you’ll be playing on one of the most unique holes in Hawaii!
Pukalani Country Club may require more drive time to get to it, but visitors say it’s worth the effort. Some golfers commented that their experience at Pukalani Country Club surpassed that at the pricier Wailea Gold course. Others quipped that although the parking lot and clubhouse trailer may be outdated, the course was in immaculate condition. Reviewers also praised the staff, the pro shop, and the reasonable rates.
Pukalani Country Club has pricing for any golf budget. Be sure to look into their Super Twilight special that is an amazing deal! For a nominal fee, you can play as many holes as possible from 2:30-5:30 PM and the rate includes golf cart!

The bar serves a variety of beers, wines, and cocktails, and like their food options, the prices are very reasonable.
