In business since 2014, the locally owned and operated Island Cream Company offers something new … it’s not your typical ice cream or gelato, but rather, a mixture of both. The handmade creams, special recipe cones (in vanilla, chocolate, and cinnamon), and hot fudge are popular with residents and tourists alike.
The Island Cream Company has all the “standard” flavors — chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and the like. But we don’t stop there.
Here are a few (and only a few) of the specially-crafted creams to tantalize your tastebuds.

The Island Cream Company doesn’t just sell shaved ice. Glacier Ice® features more than 36 flavors where you can create your own colorful masterpiece. The ICC’s server will pack your cup with ice, then you can pour in as much (or little) syrup as you like, in any or all flavors. If you run out of flavor before you run out of ice, go back for more syrup.
If coffee is your thing, try a dip of Coffee Crunch. Top it off with homemade hot fudge and salted caramel. Macadamia nuts are a Hawaiian thing; enjoy a scoop of Chocolate Macadamia ice cream with fudge topping. Maui Local has fresh coconut and macadamia nuts folded in cream.
Sposhy is a treat made with shaved ice and frozen strawberry and mango fruits, poured over your choice of frozen cream. It’s topped with condensed milk, fresh mango, and fresh strawberries. Island Cream Company visitors rave about Sposhy!
One of the most popular flavors at Island Cream is Kauai-Karamel, complete with roasted pecans. Strawberry Shortcake is another big seller. Enjoy a banana split, brownie boat, or sundae. Cream bars, frozen chocolate-covered bananas, and pre-packed pints are available for carryout.
Island Cream has so many flavors from which to choose. Everything looks good, right? Can’t decide? Try a 6-mini-scoop sampler to pique your fancy!
Insider Tips:
-Not every flavor is available every day, but with the wide selection, there’s something for everyone. If you want to indulge in a specific flavor, call the store to make sure they have what you want on that particular day.
-If you’ve never used the layered shaved ice flavor dispensers before, they can be a little tricky, especially the ones on the top level. Don’t be afraid to ask for help — the Island Cream Company employees are great.
-If you’re “dairy-free,” Island Cream has 3 or 4 sorbets each day for you. There is a sugar-free raspberry sorbet option, as well.
