Although Hawaiian Village Coffee doesn’t have ocean views to brag about, it can boast about its coffee!
Owner and operator David Maran opened Hawaiian Village Coffee over 30-years ago. You’ll find his quaint and cozy cafe tucked inside the Kahana Gateway Center in Lahaina. Inside, you’ll discover local art displayed on a wall along with a surfboard that’s been colorfully and tastefully painted.
The ambiance is laid-back, and the eclectic decor has that surfer-beach-vibe feel that’ll make you feel relaxed and welcomed. Tucked along the back wall are shelves filled with bags of roasted coffee and Hawaiian Village Coffee mugs, hats, and other assorted products. Seating is limited, but there are some chairs and tables outside.
Hawaiian Village Coffee also boasts of pouring the freshest, locally roasted coffee on Maui. Based upon reviews on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor, guests agree! The blackboard behind the baristas lists the various drink options, sizes, and food items.
Some signature drinks are as follows:
Drip Coffee
There are several options to select, but the unique blend we read about was the Vanilla Macadamia Nut. Guests described the coffee as being ever so sweet with a smooth finish. Some diners added that the coffee was so good, they didn’t need to add anything.
Iced Vanilla Mac Nut Latte
As with the drip blend, customers spoke highly of the latte, adding that it was high in caffeine and tasted delicious. Hmm, do you see a theme here?
Coconut Cold Brew
Several cold-brew-only drinkers commented that this brew was one of the best they’d ever consumed: strong and smooth.
Hawaiian Village Coffee also has grab-and-go pastries, scones, fruit, and other breakfast bites. They also serve some great bagel sandwiches.
Bagel Lox
We found that this sandwich was one of the most talked-about on various review platforms. Although pricey, one customer said the salmon was tender and “melted in your mouth.” Adding to the mouth-watering experience were the capers, crispy bean sprouts, tomato, and onion. These, combined with the toasted everything bagel and cream cheese, make for a delicious sandwich.
Banana Walnut Bread
The homemade bread is another hit with patrons for being moist, sweet, and soft.
Veggie Bagel
Another crowd-pleaser, this sandwich is filled with cream cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, to name a few.
Roselani Tropics Ice Cream
Ice cream in a coffee shop? Hey, you’re in Hawaii! Relax, go with the flow, and grab a scoop for your “second breakfast.”
Hawaiian Village Coffee receives high praises from guests, and even when they’re busy, the line moves fast. Coffee prices are reasonable, the drinks are excellent, and the food is fresh and tasty. If you’re looking for an eclectic, laid-back cafe serving great coffee and breakfast items, you can’t go wrong visiting Hawaiian Village Coffee!
