If you’ve ever wanted to play mini-golf in paradise, Kauai Miniature Golf and Botanical Garden promises to exceed your every expectation. Their imaginative 18-hole mini-golf course sprawls across the botanical garden on the north side of the Anaina Hou Community Park complex.

Across this course, all the tropical plants treat you to amazing sights as you work on hitting that par 47 score or better. Take the time to look around to spot banana trees, pineapple plants, and colorful flowers of all kinds, but don’t let your focus wane. In order to hit the leaderboard, you’ll need to master trick pipe shots, avoid water hazards, and think your way through the rest of the obstacles.

Adults and kids of all ages can complete the course, although it’s quite challenging to come in well under par. You do have to mind the six-stroke per hole limit, which keeps the groups moving through the course at a reasonable pace. To let the kids in your group blow off steam afterward, you’ll want to stop by the playground before leaving the park. Built to promote pretend play, the play structure encourages kids of all ages to use their imagination and have a great time.

All throughout the year, you can also attend fun events at this park, like the Ahi Lele Fire Show, Farmer’s Market, and so much more. You can check their event schedule to see if there’s anything that catches your interest. If so, get in all your mini golfing fun, and then go over to the other side of the park to enjoy your events of choice.

If hunger strikes while you’re golfing away, playing at the playground, or attending events, jet on over to the café for a bite to eat. They serve all the best breakfast and lunch favorites plus coffee, tropical drinks, and desserts galore. Their most popular offering is the shave ice by far, which comes with your preferred syrups and whatever toppings you like.

Fan favorites in the café include:

Coffee
When you need a quick pick-me-up to help you get through the mini-golf course, skip on over to the café for your coffee of choice. They expertly brew up espresso using high-quality local beans, and then mix up your selected drink with flair. You can get your drink hot, iced, or blended and flavored with whatever syrups you like best.

Shave Ice
A true Hawaiian treasure, the Shave Ice takes frozen deliciousness to the next level. To make this treat, they shave down the ice until fluffy, and then put a huge scoop in your bowl. After that, they smother it with two syrup flavors plus whatever toppings suit your fancy. Want to make it really fun? Try the Adult Shave Ice – Mai Tai style! Kalua Coconut Rum, Meyers Dark Rum, and a Mango/Pineapple Shave Ice will definitely keep you wanting more!

Kilauea Favorite Hot Dog
If you want something a little bit heartier, you cannot go wrong with the Kilauea Favorite Hot Dog. Made using 1/4 pounds of an all-beef hot dog with several different toppings to select from! This dog ranges from the Kahuna Dog (which is a local favorite), The Luau Dog, and The Ahi Lele!

If you don’t find what you’re craving at the café, check the parking lot for local food trucks offering all the best island flavors. In an effort to fill out their schedules, the food trucks land here randomly, always keeping you guessing about what’s on tap. Once you decide between all the options available, you can take your selections over to the covered seating area to enjoy at your leisure.
