Hawaii Surfing Adventures makes it easy to achieve your dreams of riding the waves across the gorgeous Hanalei Bay in North Shore Kauai. Their instructors include competitive surfers and other big wave enthusiasts who adore sharing their passion for surfing. With their help, you can learn how to read the water, stand up on the board, and make the waves work for you. Before you know it, you’ll be hoisting yourself up on your feet and maneuvering the board across each wave like a pro.

When you want to chill out on calmer waters, you can join their stand-up paddleboarding lessons as well. Before going bayside, you’ll hit the river to master getting balanced on the board and paddling around at your leisure. Once you’re ready for a bigger challenge, your group can head out onto the bay to further improve your skills. You can even learn to surf on your stand-up paddleboard if you want to take the experience full circle.

Once you’re done with your lessons, the fun doesn’t have to end. In fact, with their equipment rentals, you can grab the gear you need to enjoy surfing and paddleboarding on your own. You can rent your boards for as many days as you’d like or just for a few hours whenever you have time to hit the waves. All surfboard and paddleboard rentals come with a leash and straps. Rashguards, bodyboards, beach chairs, and umbrellas are available as well.

Their most popular offerings include:

Surf Lessons
Surf lessons prepare you to assess the conditions, get up on the board, and safely ride waves to your heart’s content. Each private, semi-private, or group lesson lasts about 1.5 hours with the first 30 minutes spent going over safety rules, learning how to read the waves, and working on board positioning. After that, you’ll hit the water in style.

SUP Lessons
Also available as private, semi-private, and group lessons, the stand-up paddleboarding, or SUP, training teaches you how to paddle around like a natural. You’ll spend about 1.5 hours on the water, starting out with a quick how-to session on the river. From there, you may hit the bay waters and even learn how to surf on your paddleboard.

Surf Safari
The Surf Safari gives you even more time on the water as you hit all the different break choices along both sides of the bay. You’ll spend about three hours surfing along the shorelines and reef breaks plus get a hearty lunch to restore your energy.

Children of the Sea Surf Camp
The Children of the Sea Surf Camp gives kids ages eight and up a chance to master their surfing skills alongside skilled instructors. They’ll spend between three and four hours on the bay, letting you get a long nap or simply relax on the beach. All the while, they’ll remain under strict supervision while learning how to ride all the different kinds of waves.

When renting their equipment, you’re responsible for any major damage to the boards. The boards can break in half or buckle internally. You can minimize the risk of severe damage by following all their safety precautions, but it’s still a possibility. If a soft-top board breaks, it must be replaced outright. Hard boards are usually repairable, although that takes them out of rotation for up to two weeks. Any scratches, paint chips, or peeling area on the soft top are normal, so don’t worry about a charge for minor defects.
