Naupaka Terrace Restaurant is located at the heart of the Kauai Beach Resort & Spa on Kauai’s east side. This resort restaurant offers a charming dining area in which diners can enjoy breakfast and lunch while overlooking the resort’s inner gardens.
Kauai Beach Resort & Spa spans twelve acres along the ocean and is one of the most accessible resorts on the island. Visitors can take an easy ten-minute shuttle from the Lihue International Airport to get here and then take other such shuttles to check out nearby attractions like shopping, golf, and more. This is a full-service resort and boasts a long list of amenities, including pools, evening luaus, and Polynesian shows, beach access, and, of course, on-site dining that includes the Naupaka Terrace Restaurant.
The Napaka Terrace Restaurant is open for breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every day of the week. Breakfast prices here will be higher than what diners might expect to pay at a similar breakfast spot in Lihue or another Kauai town, but part of what you are paying for is convenience as guests here just have to take an elevator down to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Plus, there is the backdrop to appreciate.
There really aren’t as beautiful spots to enjoy a full breakfast as at the Napaka Terrace Restaurant. There is both an indoor and outdoor dining area, but even the indoor dining area offers fantastic outdoor vistas thanks to the restaurant uniquely being surrounded by four-length windows. The outdoor patio, however, is where the truly fantastic sitting is. Here, you can relax back in comfortable wicker chairs and look out across beautifully landscaped gardens and catch sight of ocean waves as you enjoy orange juice and breakfast fare.
The full-service breakfast experience at Naupaka Terrace Restaurant is largely sourced from local farms and purveyors and as such, the menu reflects classic Hawaiian dishes and preparation styles.
Popular breakfast menu items include:
Kalbi & Eggs
A very filling entree, diners will enjoy succulent marinated ribs served with two eggs cooked in any style and a side of potatoes.
Fried Rice Bibimbap
This is a Hawaiian take on a very popular Korean dish. Bacon, Portuguese sausage, and Kalua Pork get sauteed together and served with a sunny-side-up egg with a side of potatoes mixed with scallops, and bean sprouts, topped with kimchee. And, of course, fried rice is at the core of the dish.
Salmon Plate
This dish is pricey with a $19 tag, but it is also rather delicious. With this order, you get a freshly baked bagel smothered with cream cheese, fresh salmon, tomato, onions, and capers.
Insider Tips:
-Consider ordering dinner on the terraced outdoor patio just before sunset as you will get to enjoy a fantastic meal, delicious drinks, and a stunning sunset in an all-in-one package.
-Remember, this is a more formal dining establishment and one connected with a luxury resort. Prices here will be higher than average for the island.
-Those staying at the resort can order food to be delivered directly to their door. Those not staying in the resort are still welcome to come in and dine at the restaurant.
