Located conveniently off of Mamalahoa Hwy in Honomu, HI, The Surf Break Cafe specializes in breakfast, brunch, lunch, smoothies, coffee, tea, and has a spectacular juice bar. They pride themselves in making the freshest, most yummy, handmade breakfast burritos, salads, smoothies, melts, French toast, and more on a daily basis. When possible, the ingredients used for these scrumptious dishes are locally sourced, ensuring the freshest taste, while simultaneously supporting a sustainable local economy. Surf Break Cafe is situated in a new spot in Honomu Town, which exudes the Aloha spirit. 

Throughout the last 12 years since opening the cafe, Surf Break has crossed paths with all kinds of people, making new friends and building relationships with visitors and neighbors alike. The chill, happy, fun, environment of the cafe sustains a welcome vibe that makes everyone feel welcome and at ease when visiting this establishment. One of the specialty items that Surf Break Cafe offers are coffee, espresso, cold brew, and smoothies. This is to say nothing of the hand-made Chai or luxury teas that are also served in-house. The ambiance presented inside the Surf Break Cafe is casual yet artistic. There are couches, wicker furnishings, picnic tables, and regular dining tables to sit at while inside the cafe, with picnic tables also available outdoors for outdoor seating. Enjoy the colorful artistic renderings on the walls with hand-painted canvases of waves, sea monsters, surfers, and more. It is an eclectic environment that is interesting yet not overwhelming, which further contributes to its welcoming, Aloha spirit.

Smoothies
Already mentioned above, the smoothies are one of the most delicious choices at the cafe and one of their signature offerings. Choose from a variety of options, including the Machado, featuring apple juice, banana, and berries, the Dorian, with milk, banana, coconut, and pineapple, the Slater, with OJ, milk, mango, and banana. Also available are the Irons, with milk, banana, peanut butter, and chocolate, and the Green Flash, with spinach, banana, pineapple, and mango. 

Coffee
Coffee choices include drip coffee or cold brew, cappuccino, latte, mocha, white chocolate mocha, chai latte, cafe au lait, and the Americano. 

Teas
Another notable specialty of the Surf Break Cafe is their luxury and loose-leaf teas, served hot or iced. All teas are served unsweetened. There are several options to suit a variety of tastes and preferences. 

Breakfast Burritos
Start your day of adventure off right with a hearty breakfast burrito. Options include The Grom, featuring cheese, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and scrambled eggs, or The Triple, featuring avocado, rice and beans, salsa cream cheese, potatoes, and scrambled eggs in a flour tortilla. You can add sausage or bacon to this burrito for an additional charge. 

Grilled Sandwiches
Take along a signature sandwich with you, eat in for a break in the day, or begin your day off with a breakfast variety. Choose from the Tom Tom, served on a bagel, with cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese, or the Dawny Girl on sourdough bread featuring scrambled eggs, local avocado, and pepper jack cheese for breakfast or brunch. Also available and more appropriate for lunch is the Turkey Swiss, served on sourdough bread featuring roasted turkey breast, swiss cheese, and pesto, or the Spinach Artichoke on multigrain bread, featuring organic spinach, swiss cheese, red onion, and the cafe’s specialty artichoke heart cream cheese blend.
