If you want to see the beauty of West Maui from a whole new perspective, Flyin Hawaiian Zipline is the way to go. On their eight fantastic ziplines, you’ll zoom above the West Maui mountainside for an incredible 2.5 miles. All along the way, you’ll get an unforgettable view of the Waikapu Valley plus the south and north shore landscapes beyond. The majestic Haleakala scenery punctuates the views, letting you marvel at the Earth’s wonders while getting a double dose of adrenaline.

To kick off your adventure at Flyin Hawaiian Zipline, the crew will have you hop on board their ATV and ferry you to the first zipline at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu. In between each line, you’ll get to ride to the next zipline’s starting point in the ATV, although there are several uphill trails to conquer as well. All along the way, your guide will share interesting facts about the surrounding landscape and its history.

Once you arrive at the first zipline, you’ll get ready to fly by completing the training course. By the end of that course, you’ll know how to hold your body while moving through the sky and during braking. With that done, you’ll get into the harness next, and then start down the first zipline.

At 250-feet long, this line serves as a warmup for the rest. All you have to do is let the guide secure you to the line, and then jump off the platform to see how it works. Since the first line is only a few feet off the ground, it gives you time to gain trust in the zipline system and your guide’s braking abilities. If you’re a zipline veteran, ask to go backward for a bit of a thrill to start out your trip.

After the first one, the ziplines at Flyin Hawaiian Zipline get higher and higher off the ground until you’re zooming 250 feet above paradise. The lines get longer as well, with the eighth zipline spanning 3,600 feet in length. With all that extra room to zoom, you’ll end up moving at a rapid clip over the landscape.

You can expect to reach speeds of around 55 miles per hour on the majority of lines, so be sure to look fast to take in all the beautiful scenery. Upon reaching the end of the line, your guide uses the impact braking system to bring you to a stop. It’s a bit abrupt, but wholly safe, especially if you position your body as instructed during the training session.

The crew of Flyin Hawaiian Zipline provides all the snacks, water, and almost all the supplies you’ll need on your adventure. They even give you a complimentary water bottle to keep, plus cold towels and juice at the end of your run. The only things you’ll need to bring are reef-safe sunscreen and a good pair of sunglasses.

To keep your sunglasses from flying off while you zoom through the skies, put a strap on the arms and secure it tightly to your head. Don’t have sunglasses? They’ll provide mandatory safety glasses to protect your eyes as you fly high through the skies.

After enjoying your juice at Flyin Hawaiian Zipline, the crew will take you back down the mountain on the ATV. You can use that time to ask your guides questions and share your experience with other people in your group. Just don’t forget to take tons of selfies to capture your memories and share your journey with friends and family upon returning home.
