With Die Hard Sport Fishing, you can choose from two charter options, full or half-day. They can be private or shared fishing experiences out of Lahaina, Hawaii. Die Hard recommends full-day excursions for the biggest game fish, like Yellowfin Tuna, Bull Mahi Mahi, and Blue Marlin. This full-day experience has a duration of 10 or 8 hours to allow multiple fishing opportunities.

The full-day experience allows you to reach deeper waters. It typically leaves around 10 pm to midnight the night before, so you can have lines in the water during first light. The exact time for departure will be discussed and decided upon the afternoon before your charter and will be based on moon phases, targeted fish, and current fish reports.

The half-day charters with Die Hard Sport Fishing usually target Barracuda, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi mostly using artificial lures, but occasionally using live bait. With half-day excursions, you will be chasing schools of bait fish in shallow waters to find your targeted catch. These trips typically depart at 3 to 5 am and last six hours. There are also PM departures that leave at 10 am in both six hours and four-hour increments.

They claim it is a great time, beginning late at night catching bait and then rising early to start fishing at dawn. If you are considering a trip with the company, they recommend taking non-drowsy Dramamine for motion sickness the night before the experience (or at least five hours before departure). This is true even if you don’t typically struggle with motion sickness or sea sickness.

While the amount of fish you will catch varies, most guests will average about 10 normal-size servings to take with them. However, not all the fish caught during your experience will go home with the anglers as this boat is well known for supplying local restaurants, so some of what is caught are sold for that purpose.
