- The HawaiianIslands.com Local Expert Team

Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill instantly transports you back to a simpler time when everything was locally grown and made from scratch. A grill and country store all in one, they hand raise all the cattle, sheep, deer, and elk that make a star appearance on their menu. Although they don’t grow their own produce onsite, they do get it hand-delivered on a daily. Their fresh fruit and veggies arrive by crate from nearby farms, allowing them to build even more flavor in every dish.

Using all their fresh, local ingredients, they get to work in preparing all their menu items from scratch at 11am sharp each day. No matter what you order, all their hard work shines through from the very first bite. So, whether you drop by for a burger, plate lunch, or one of their many specials, you’re sure to walk away wholly satisfied. They don’t just go big on flavor either. Their portions are hearty, too, as they’re used to serving up hardworking ranch hands on the double.

As you enjoy your meal, you get to sit outdoors and gaze upon the beauty of their Kula farmlands. Their picnic tables keep it real, while the breathtaking views feel otherworldly. Their quality service completes the picture of perfection as the staff offer plenty of aloha with every interaction. When you’re done with your meal, don’t jet out of there right away.

Instead, go on over to their country store for a look around. Another relic of the past, this quaint store has tons of apparel, home décor, and other wonderful items to bring home and covet forevermore. Their goods also make great gifts for friends and family back home waiting for amazing souvenirs. Don’t forget to stop by Maui Wine across the way before leaving the ranch. As the only winery on the island, it’s well worth checking out and even buying a few bottles if that suits your fancy.

Their most popular items:

100% Natural Ulupalakua Burgers
Available in beef, venison, lamb, and elk, the 100% Natural Ulupalakua Burgers are an absolute must. They create each patty out of their homegrown meats, and then cook it to perfection on their outdoor grill. After that, they put the patty on a robust bun and add whatever fixings you want, including their Upcountry Additions like Grilled Maui Pineapple, Bacon, and Portuguese Sausage.

Hamburger Steak with a Kona Gravy & Garlic Aioli
For all the best local flavors in every bite, you cannot go wrong with the Hamburger Steak with a Kona Gravy & Garlic Aioli. They prepare this dish by hand shaping their very own ground beef into two big patties. Then, they grill them up to your desired level of doneness and put them over a bed of rice. Garlic aioli and Kona Gravy go over the top while mac salad lands on the side.

Uncle Mike’s Steak Chili & Rice
Uncle Mike’s Steak Chili & Rice keeps things simple yet bursting with flavor. To create this masterpiece, they grill up their steak until tender, and then add all the chili fixings to the pot, including beans. Once the chili simmers long enough, rice joins the party to add even more heartiness to the meal.

Although they’re all about that ranch life, they do have a few vegetarian-friendly items on their menu. You can start with their fresh Garden Greens salad featuring mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, and onion drizzled in housemade dressing. Then, treat yourself to their delightful Taro Burger with grilled pineapple and caramelized onions. Pair it with Potato Wedges to bring everything together just right.
