Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante serves Italian food and brick oven pizzas in a beautiful oceanside setting. With open-air dining and waves softly crashing, there couldn’t be a more elegant setting for a fine Italian meal.

The Antipasto, Pasta, and House Specialties sections of the menu feature plenty of classic Italian dishes, but often with a little Hawaiian flair. The dishes are often infused with local ingredients while remaining true to their Italian names, and the seafood predominately comes from the waters around the island — like those that are virtually tableside.

For pizza, Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante specializes in four creations. The Margherita pizza is a standard, the Ferraro’s comes loaded with meat, vegetables and a ripened tomatoes brunoise, and Vegan is free of both animal products and gluten. Rounding out the quartet is a calzone that might not be pie-shaped, but is filled with the right toppings and perfectly stone-baked.

Not to be missed are the desserts — the Coconut Mango Panna Cotta a favorite — and an extensive wine list. Order a full bottle, so you can share and linger as you admire the stars. You might want two after-dinner desserts as you sip on that vino.

Complementing all of this is a view that’s as fine as the food. The open dining area at Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante is situated right next to the ocean, although far enough that you won’t get splashed. Above is the expansive sky, which is a particular delight to dine under on a clear night.

A few of our favorite menu items at Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante are:

Seafood Linguini “Alla Pescotora”
Squid ink linguini appropriately forms the bed on which tiger prawns, tuna ragu, local fish, and calamari lay. A delicious bite no matter where on the plate you begin.

Ferraro’s Pizza
Go with the house-named pizza at Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante if you don’t know which one to get. Covered with pepperoni, coppa, broccolini, Chili oil, and a vine-ripened tamales brunoise, this is pizza done right.

Vegan Pizza
Options are slightly limited for vegan and gluten-free diners. With the Vegan pizza, though, there really isn’t a need for anything else.

Coconut Mango Panna Cotta
The Coconut Mango Panna Cotta is made from tropical ingredients, including macadamia nuts, guava, coconut, and mango. The Yuzu chocolate adds the last necessity for a great dessert. This happens to be one of the few other items that are gluten-free and vegan, too.

Champagne
Skip the cocktails and go straight for the wine menu at Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante. Sparkling & Champagne leads off, and you might as well not read on any further. Open a bottle of the fizzy stuff and celebrate — there’s no better location too.

The prices here aren’t the cheapest. Expect to pay a good amount for an entree and almost anything for a bottle of wine. If these are in your budget, though, the ristorante could provide a memorable night that’s priceless.

Insider Tip:
If you dine later in the evening, all wines are half-priced! Indulge in that fancy champagne you’ve been wanting to try.
