Also, don’t forget that there are authentic hula demonstrations you can enjoy set to live Hawaiian music, free of charge.

Situated in an idyllic garden setting befitting the island paradise that it calls home is the Poipu Shopping Village. This village, located in the heart of Poipu, Kaui is home to eclectic shops, boutiques, art, and award-winning restaurants. You can also catch an in-person authentic Hula show -set to Live Hawaiian Music free of charge on the premises every Monday and Thursday afternoon. 

The shop options are vast and include some notable offerings including By The Sea, a fine collection of resort clothing and jewelry for women, providing an elegant island fair with unique and extraordinary accessories and jewelry. Another must-see shopping option while visiting Poipu Shopping Village is the Cariloha Bamboo. This shop, established in 2007, is the only retailer in the world that features products made entirely of bamboo. You can purchase polos, dresses, shirts, hats, skirts, bed sheets, bath towels, and more all made entirely from bamboo blends. 

Crazy Shirts is another store you simply must visit as it is aptly named by famously offering original designs all in the warm spirit of aloha. The store is frequently exploring innovative dying processes that keep them ahead of the curve in terms of design. For the home, or to purchase that unique souvenir item, don’t miss out on Elephant Walk. This store has been Hawaii’s premier lifestyle gallery since 1983 and offers thousands of treasures to choose from, including clothing, home decor, jewelry art, and more. There is even something for the four-legged member of your family. Elephant Walk also proudly features keepsakes made by locals that are ideal for taking back home as a piece of the island paradise. 

While that list of shopping options outlined above that are located in the village is far from exhaustive, it’s important to remember that there is more than unique shops and live entertainment awaiting you when visiting the village, you also have your choice of some of the most delectable restaurants in all of Poipu. This means that there are even more stores that could be mentioned and merit exploring, but it’s time to move on to the many dining options you will find. 

To start off, consider the husband and wife owned Anuenue Cafe’ that proudly brings Kauai to you via the enriching flavors found in their roastery coffee, granola, beef, mushroom shrimp, and more. The mission is to discover what breakfast should taste like! Hours are 6-12 daily.  If you work up an appetite while pursuing the shops, be sure to check out Pietro’s Pizza E Pasta. Their specialty is pizzas designed to bring people and families together, and they offer New York, Romana, and Neapolitan Pizza options. They serve lunch beginning at 11:00 to 5:00. Then dinner hours are from 5 to closing. 

Another option in the Poipu Shopping Village you will not want to miss out on is the Bangkok Happy Bowl Thai Bistro & Bar. This locale has quickly become not only a tourist favorite but is beloved by island locals as well. This authentic Thais bistro features seating on an outdoor lanai and offers several award-winning and original signature recipes by Chef Paula Rungsawang-Coult. Hours are 11 to 9:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday and Friday and Saturday 11 to 10 pm.  

Another interesting activity that is hosted in Poipu Shopping Village is the Village Market, which is every first and third Tuesday. The Village Market features locally grown vegetables, tropical flowers, and fruits from Kauai’s own farming community. There are also local artisans, bakers, and craft makers as well. As of right now, there is no Village Market scheduled.

Poipu Shopping Village provides an authentic look at Hawaiian culture all in one trip. You have artistic offerings, specialty shops, dining options that provide a vast variety of choices, and even in-person, authentic hula demonstrations. Consequently, it’s a great one-stop location for all things Hawaii located conveniently in Poipu, Kauai.
