Los Tres Mex is a family-owned and operated Mexican restaurant serving fresh, made-to-order meals. They have been serving food for over 30-years. The Tex-Mex restaurant is located in the Waikoloa Highlands Village on the northwestern side of The Big Island. We use the word “restaurant” loosely because Los Tres Mex is a small building offering walk-up service. Most guests order their food in advance and pick it up on their way to the beach. But there are outside tables you can use if you prefer eating on site. 

The staff is friendly and takes your order at the large open window. The exterior has that chic-industrial look with tin, shiplap, and old-school light fixtures above the displayed menu. The fresh food at Los Tres Mex is served in disposable trays and containers, making meals perfect for beach or picnic trips. Keep in mind Los Tres Mex cook to order, which will take time. If you’re in a rush, visitors encourage ordering ahead of time.  Some reviews complained that Los Tres Mex’s menu is limited. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, considering the size of Los Tres Mex, we believe they deliver big on what they do offer. Let’s look at their menu in more detail.

You first select whether you want your salad in a tortilla shell or atop chips. Next, you pick either beef, chicken, or pork or make it vegetarian. Lastly, come the toppings: local mixed greens, beans, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.
