- The HawaiianIslands.com Local Expert Team

At Kauai Island Brewery & Grill, they go all out in securing their spot as the place to go in South Shore Kauai for excellent food, drinks, and fun. They kick off the experience by brewing 10 barrels of beer at a time, all made with the freshest, local ingredients around.

Through that process, they bring inventive brews alive for your pure enjoyment, constantly rotating new creations into the mix all the time. Their brews range from the bright, flavorful Lilikoi Ale to rich and malty Cane Fire Red. They even have a stunningly good Kauai Coffee Stout on tap to let you sink into the best island flavors around: fresh roasted coffee and local chocolate.

Their beer varieties rotate out on the regular, so you can’t just look at the menu and decide what to get. Instead, check out the chalkboard signs for a complete list of brews available during your visit. Even if they don’t have exactly what you’re looking for, you won’t regret trying something new. Not sure what to get? Tell the bartender what flavor profiles you hope to enjoy, and they’ll direct you to the best choice.

Although they could end at the brews and stay plenty popular, they don’t stop there. Instead, they go above and beyond by grilling up decadent Hawaiian bar food and serving it in a truly friendly and entertaining environment.

As you grub on your selections, you’re welcome to watch the game on the flatscreen TVs all around. Or you can fuel up for fun, and then go upstairs to play all their pinball machines, including Wizard of Oz, Fish Tails, and Medieval Madness. When you’re in the mood for a little competition, challenge someone to a game or two on the electronic soft tip dartboards instead.

Dragon’s Breath Wheat
When you want to keep it 100% Hawaiian yet pure and simple, go with the Dragon’s Breath Wheat. This brew starts with a basic wheat beer base, and then gets kicked up a notch with bright dragon fruit flavors.

The Fonz IPAAAAAA
Made as a tribute to the one and only Fonzarelli, The Fonz IPAAAAAA promises to bring plenty of “Happy Days” your way. Although they keep changing up the recipe, this IPA is always a definite winner. So, roll the dice and take the chance to see just what they’ve brewed up this time.

Pork & Shrimp Lumpia
The Pork & Shrimp Lumpia puts a wonderful spin on surf and turf plus comes in a neat package. To create this appetizer, they wrap their scrumptious pork and shrimp filling in spring roll wrappers. Then, they fry it until golden brown and serve it up with their guava-chili sauce.

Grilled Fish Tacos
Whenever you get a chance, it’s always worth ordering their Grilled Fish Tacos. They create this fan favorite by grilling fresh, local fish until light and flaky. Then, they place the fish in two tortilla shells and add coleslaw and chipotle-adobo sour cream over the top. Chips and salsa land alongside to help bring all the flavors together just right.

If you’d like to see how the magic happens, sign up for their behind-the-scenes brewery tour. They’ll let you explore their 10-barrel brewing room alongside a knowledgeable guide. All along the way, your tour guide will explain how they come up with each brew and explain how they go from simple island ingredients to true masterpieces.
