As the saying goes, good things come in small packages. King’s View Cafe fits this description. You’ll find this restaurant in Kapaau at the end of a small strip mall beside an art gallery. From the street, you’d wonder if there’s any room inside for seating, let alone to order. Rest assured, there is!
King’s View Cafe is across the street from the King Kamehameha statue and war memorial park (thus the restaurant’s name). Hawaiian art and photographs adorn the bamboo paneled walls inside the narrow cafe. In many ways, the decor is comparable to a tiki hut. And despite the restaurant’s small size, tables are aplenty and aren’t crammed together.
They offer a variety of menu options but are known for serving some of the best pizza in Hawaii. Desserts, smoothies, lattes, and adult beverages are also available at King’s View Cafe. You order at the walk-up counter, and a server brings the food to your table.
While every region of the United States claims to have “the best pizza,” we know the crust is what distinguishes styles. King’s View Cafe hand tosses their crust, and then oven bakes them. The result is a crisp crust that’s not too thick and isn’t gooey in the center. They also offer a gluten-free crust that visitors hail as being very tasty.
