When you want healthy yet delicious food you can really feel good about eating, scoot on over to Herbivores for a bite. Set in the heart of Kailua-Kona, this unique drive-thru eatery only serves plant-based fare to remember. Their imaginative recipes are sure to delight, while their mission easily touches the heart. Beyond that, they aim to send plenty of aloha out into the world, so all their patrons can feel their appreciation for every visit.

A mom and daughter operate the joint together and always strive to infuse their passion for vegan delights into everything they do. Their approach starts with the selection of fresh, local ingredients from trusted farms all over the island. Then, they dream up smart recipes that range from healthy whole food goodness to truly familiar comfort foods.

Want a Southwest Breakfast Burrito? They can do that. Prefer to nosh on a Chili Dog? Amazingly, they can do that, too. They even create dessert recipes that skip the eggs, dairy, and such – and all without compromising on great results. They always manage to get all the flavors just right despite skipping the meat, dairy, eggs, and all other animal products. Just fruit, veggies, and grains go into the mix, yet the flavor combos always feel familiar and wholly satisfying.

Although they operate a lowkey drive-thru, the mother-daughter duo always goes above and beyond in serving their patrons. They have tables set up outside – complete with umbrellas to block the sun – if you want to enjoy your meal right onsite. And they’re even happy to whisk your selections right out to your table as soon as they’re ready. Their bright aloha spirit shines through in all they do as a result, ensuring that you always feel like a cherished part of the family.

Good Karma B.L.T. Sandwich
The Good Karma B.L.T Sandwich brings on a perfect blend of smoky and fresh flavors in every bite. This dish starts with whole grain organic bread, which gets toasted and topped with vegan mayo. Then, they add their homemade rice paper bac-un, lettuce, and tomato. Organic potato chips come alongside.

Plant-Based Poke Bowl
What’s poke without the fish? Absolutely scrumptious, that’s what. To see for yourself, order up the Plant-Based Poke Bowl. This popular dish begins with the preparation of their organic tofu poke. Once that’s done, they mix it with local veggies and put it over brown rice. Purple sweet potatoes land on the side and furikake goes over top to finish it off right.

Animal Lovers Pizza
Whenever you order the Animal Lovers Pizza, you just know you’re going to get to chow down on pure decadence. To create this dish, they spread both BBQ sauce and marinara over their hand-tossed dough. Then, they pile on the vegan sausage, chick’n, vegan meatballs, and bac-un. Overall that, they sprinkle on a generous amount of cashew mozzarella cheese sauce, and then pop it in the oven until hot and bubbly.

When you need a sweet treat, you can always count on getting their smoothies and desserts all day long. For a grab-and-go sweet treat, choose their Dragonfruit Smoothie, Banana Berry Smoothie, or the like. But if you have a little time to sit and savor the luscious flavors, then their Famous Chocolate Cake Slice is the way to go. Other than that, they have S’mores Bars, Chocolate Cookies, and Oatmeal Cream Pies as well.
