The many sports courts and fields onsite allow you to enjoy baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and whatever else you can dream up. Love to play hockey? There’s a public inline skating rink perfect for pickup games. If skateboarding is more your thing, then definitely set your sights on the skate park instead.

As for the little ones, they never fail to delight at the covered playground complete with a playscape to remember. The open fields let them run off their energy, too, whenever they need to stretch their legs. While exploring every corner of the park, your kids will love discovering the enormous whale sculpture and learning anything you can offer about those fantastic creatures.

Although there’s only a tiny beach next to the park, it’s worth dipping your toes in the sand for a second and checking out the waves. Sea turtles often make their appearance plus the views are phenomenal all around.

The facilities at this park allow you to stay comfortable all day. There are five sets of restrooms onsite plus two outdoor shower facilities. You’re also welcome to use the BBQ grills, picnic tables, and electrical hookups as needed to have a great day out in the sun.

Top things to do here:

Have a Delicious BBQ
If you’re in the mood for a picnic, this is definitely the place to go. The BBQ grills all around make it easy to grill up all your seafood, meat, and more to your liking. Then, once your food is done, you can grab a picnic table or just lay out a blanket on the grass. Time it just right and you’ll get a sunset show with your meal, making it all that more magical.

Enjoy the Playground
At the playground, the little ones love to climb, slide, and swing to their heart’s content. The shade overhead offers protection from the sun, too, making it a great place to spend the hottest part of the day. If you’d like a little shade while you watch all the fun, the trees nearby offer reprieve from the bright sunlight.

Play on the Sports Courts
Sports courts abound across this huge park, so bring your equipment and get ready to play. Across the greenspace, you can find multiple baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and open fields. Don’t have your own equipment? Look for locals and tourists alike playing pick up games and ask to join.

Skate Your Heart Out
Whether you love to put on a pair of inline skate and zoom around or prefer a skateboard instead, this park will keep you feeling wholly delighted. If inline skates are your thing, you can breeze along the pathways or go over to the rink for a game of hockey. For skateboarders, there’s a huge skatepark with ramps, rails, and so much more.

Chill Along the Waterfront
Although there’s not much beach to speak of, hanging out along the waterfront always serves as a fun time. You can go out on the small stretch of sand to build sandcastles and hop the waves. Or stay up on the grassy area above the rocks to spot sea turtles, watch the sunset, and simply enjoy the view.

You have four public parking lots to choose from while visiting this waterfront park. So, if the central lot is full, look along the south and north ends of the park for an open spot. Once you find a great spot, roll up your windows and lock your car doors. Never leave valuables in your car while parked in public lots. Even items in the trunk are vulnerable to thieves looking for an easy score.

Insider Tips:
-Most of the park has very little shade, so bring a big umbrella to set up in your preferred spot.
-The parking lots get locked up at sunset, so plan to leave before then to avoid getting stuck.
-Want an impromptu surf lesson? Go across the street to Maui Waveriders to see if you can sign up.
