At Moose McGillycuddy’s, they go beyond tantalizingly delicious food and drinks to serve up a whole lot of family-friendly fun, too. Whenever you swing by this popular Kihei sports bar, expect tons of entertainment on tap, including all the top sports games playing on their 30 TVs. Want to delight in special events each week? You cannot go wrong with a visit during their weekly free bingo games and trivia nights.
You never need reservations to visit, although you’re likely to have a bit of a wait for a table to open up. Even if you’re just swinging by for drinks, it’s not uncommon to have to kick around outside for at least 20 minutes. Thankfully, with the Kamaole Beach Park II right across the street, you have a beautiful view to admire while you wait.
If you get lucky, you’ll also get an open view of the waterfront from your seats. Since their eatery sits on the second floor of the building, it’s easy to see all the way out to the oceanside through the windows along South Kihei Road. Even if not, you can count on a TV or five within your view, allowing you to keep an eye on your favorite sports games during your visit.
You’ll want to direct your full attention to the menu when you have a chance because there are so many wonderful items to consider. Their ono pupus promise to start your meal off on the right foot, as do all their fabulous specialty cocktails, like their ever-popular Moose Mai Tai. If you’d like to keep it simple, they have bottled beer and wine by the glass as well. From there, it’s just a matter of choosing between all their burgers, salads, taco plates, and Hawaiian specialties.
Jet on over to try the:
Spicy Ruby Rita
For a truly sassy kick, treat yourself to the Spicy Ruby Rita. This drink begins with Tanteo jalapeno-infused tequila and ruby red grapefruit juice. To that, they add triple sec, sour, and lime to balance the spicy and sour flavors.
Baby Moose Wings
Perhaps the best way to start off your meal is with a taste of their sweet and spicy Baby Moose Wings. You’ll need to decide if you want to go with the wicked hot spicy wings or play it safe with the sweet teriyaki style. Can’t decide? That’s no problem. Just get half and half for an extra charge. Either blue cheese or ranch comes alongside, although you could ask for both if you want.
Fisherman’s Platter
The Fisherman’s Platter is a definite triple threat that you must experience at least once. They make this house specialty by deep frying coconut shrimp, mahi fish, and calamari until perfectly golden brown. Then, they throw it on the plate alongside fresh French fries plus tartar and mango chili sauce for dipping.
If you love chocolate, you absolutely must try their Chocolate Moose dessert. This delightful concoction starts with fudge brownie chunks mixed in decadent chocolate mousse. Over that, they add a huge dollop of whipped cream to lighten up the chocolate-y flavors just a tad. When you’d prefer to hit the road while snacking on your sweet treats, get the Churros to Go for cinnamon sugar goodness in every bite.
